Lilac- Dreamin' Julia.

Through our Facebook Discussion board, Julia asked for a "British tea party- inspired garden setting..I want everyone to wear white, the entourage in white and lace with lilac accents..the decorations are in lilac and lavender and some shades of purple..."

Ismael and Mishel. Bloomfields Breakfast.

He kept the ring tucked with him for two weeks, waited for the perfect moment to propose to her. After much prayer, it all came down to a plan- a proposal at the gazebo by the East Raya Gardens. Nothing more appropriate than to pop the question within that space they will soon move into. And so on December 14, 2009, Mishel hurried to the building- worried that there may have been issues with lease papers- and was greeted by a swooning Kuya Smile, red rose petals and sunny gerberas that say it all.

I had to meet Smile and Mishel last Tuesday to discuss the design of their wedding. Kuya Smile was one of my mentors in UP Baguio. Both are school teachers of GCF. The last time I saw him was at Ate Jeng's beach wedding. I suppose he was rather pleased with how the balsa wedding turned out.

I got all excited when they said the wedding will be in Baguio City because I sorely miss the cold city, more so when Mishel said she wants yellow flowers for the venue. Coincidentally the ideas and clippings we prepared over the weekend were pretty close to their vision. From the Martha Stewart Weddings pewter and yellow setting, they liked how the light green succulents blended in with the roses as backdrop, and thought that some sunflowers would look summer-y. Yellow gerberas and orchids may be added too for fullness and height.

The picture of the aisle they showed had markers of flower bouquets. We will be suggesting these white and yellow pompoms as an alternative. Along with oriental lamps, these would hang nicely among pine trees.

The table setting in the picture is exactly that on the magazine. Placemats may be yellow paper with gray damask prints. Kuya Smile agreed with the quirky crossword.

Flowers will be arranged with the birdcages, for most tables. Some would have taller arrangements, of jars with raffia wrap, as suggested for the pinoy native look. Tokens are potted succulents.

We suggested that the bridal bouquet should be white, boutonnieres of yellow orchid and fern sprout.

Congratulations Kuya Smile, Ate Mishel!
