Quatre. Very Pambie.

Rebel.

Detail of back. Antique gold satin, with lavender gina silk lining. Light pink chantilly lace to barely drop below satin hemline. Light pink organza bloomer as substitute. Fuschia sash tie and knot, including length, variable. Option for Pambie Herrera.

I've done away with the major machine work, wanted to finish them up before the new year revelry. I reckon there should be minor tweaking a week before the wedding.

I'm still discussing the tops of the skirts with the girls--

"..or else an off-shoulder double-knit blouse..."
"..vintage shirt with Fanta logo will go with the blue one...afterparty funk.."

"..or hi-cut chuck taylor sneakers..."?

"..ballet flats only..?"

So on with the Crunch after the new year bang.

And i will be waiting for the mannequin/work-on model to be shipped soon hopefully.
Thanks, Mel. :p

It's been a good year. Big thanks to my friends-- for the encouraging text messages, the hugs, for sticking around.

Have fun! Huggabugs!

Un. PuestaDelSol.

"..gamine innuendos..but knows Neruda by heart..."

This is the gown that Pambie wore for a wedding in 2006, as she was the reception host. She asked my Ma to make her one, and so came about the design as she sewed along, and of course my prodding. She asked for a saffron gown for a sunset- motif wedding, while Ma had a collection of fabric palette of golds and yellows. We just had to put them together and make it work.

On the first fitting its train dropped unexpectedly longer. We were awed, albeit hanging apprehension as she might garner more attention than the bride. Oh well, she is Pambie after all. She has the gift of gab poised for the sunset. She had a blast.

I recently added a bevy of sashes for the back detail, to heighten the spanish vibe.

Fleeced organza. Satin. Two- toned silk. Japanese shantung. Pearls. Crystals.

It won't be worn anytime soon though. I have yet to ask Iya, or do a fitting, see about including it on the list of outfits for the wedding day. Or just simply for her photo shoot. It's a Barong tagalog event anyhow.

Hugs for a great week!

Trois. The Bell. The Quiet Edwardian.

Couture. A first.

I have just finished one of the skirts that Karen, Marisol, and Pambie will be choosing from, to wear for Iya's wedding.

Yes, it's a busy house.

Details are of back. Pleated front. Baby blue shantung silk. Organza ruffling lining. Navy blue chantilly lace waistband. Black crystals.

Thanks everyone, for the christmas greetings.

Have a great week.

Hugs.

Inggo.

I don't usually buy things to give as gifts for christmas. I make them instead.

I started making the Inggo lamp in 2005. My dad and i had a stash of bordeaux bottles, and i had a pile of wings- angel wings. I reckon i still have a penchant for them. One november afternoon i had this idea, and worked on it since.

I do remember karen, marisol, and rhon getting them as christmas presents. Or else i vaguely recall how many i've done.

The photograph is of myself, taken at Sagada, by Rhanch. Wing/photo clipper ends are resin beads.

And why the name Inggo? Ask Katha.

I hope you had a hearty noche buena.
Mabuhay po kayo.

Opulence

My first full attempt at decorating a christmas tree.

My sister, Melriza, brought home an eight-foot tall christmas tree, with clasped-in fairy lights, and four types of pine needle replicas. Quite a manufacturing feat actually. The tree is a prototype for their design line-up of trend forecast for 2008, she claims. She did dream of having a nice tree for christmas so she went through the fuss of bringing it home from China.

The tree is beautiful as it is, but then i didn't have a choice but to decorate it too, in time for christmas, and for our visiting relatives. I tried to keep the trimmings few anyhow, and details subtle so they would not drown the tree's needles.

The christmas globes are from SM Homeworld. Gold wire globes are from the Gateway Mall. Chandelier crystals, and acrylic charms are from the tutubiworks collection.

I know i did dream of having a tall and grand tree for christmas when i was younger. I suppose that is the reason for not really minding buying the ridiculously expensive trimmings, and much to Ma's apprehension. They will be used to brew style inspiration for the christmases to come too. And the christmas star? It should be hung by Mushu on the eve.

Have a Happy Christmas. Be safe.

Hugs, and more hugs...

Deux: The Tulip

This is the tulip skirt for Marisol Ginez. This is the first of a set of clothes i'm making for my friends to be worn for Iya's wedding.

Knot detail is front. Yellow orange japanese shantung. Organza layers for ruffling.

Christmas hugs!
